French Bridal Wreath in Venetian Frame with Convex Center Glass
Circa 1890’s display of a bride’s marriage crown. In 19th century France, married couples would display their bridal crown or tiara in a Globe de Mariée. Most found are in a cloche, however this example is quite unusual encased in Venetian etched mirror frame with convex glass face. The wreath rests on a red tufted velvet background.
Loss of several screw covers (pictured), glass is cracked on upper winged portion of frame (pictured).
